8 Weeks Before Your Move

Set your budget and get a real number with our free quote or moving cost calculator. Create a moving folder for quotes and receipts. Start decluttering room by room, and book junk removal for anything you are not taking.

6 Weeks Before

Confirm your moving date and reserve your crew. Measure large furniture and doorways. Order packing supplies, or add professional packing. If your new place is not ready, line up storage.

4 Weeks Before

Start packing rarely used rooms. Label every box by room. Submit a change of address with Canada Post, and notify your bank, insurance and CRA. If you are in a condo, book the service elevator and request the certificate of insurance, which we can provide.

2 Weeks Before

Confirm elevator and parking at both addresses. Arrange time off for moving day. Transfer or set up utilities, internet and home insurance. Pack everything except daily essentials, and arrange furniture disassembly for beds and large items.

1 Week Before

Pack an essentials box (documents, chargers, medications, a change of clothes, basic tools). Empty, defrost and dry the fridge and freezer. Confirm the final details and arrival window with your crew.

Moving Day

Be on site to direct the crew and point out fragile or priority items. Do a final walkthrough of every room, closet and the garage. Check the inventory before the truck leaves, and keep your essentials box with you.

After the Move

Check your inventory as items come off the truck. Have beds and key furniture reassembled first. Update your address on your licence and health card, and recycle the packing materials. Settling into a new city? Our local moving guides cover building rules, parking and tips across the GTA and Ontario.
