Junk Removal in Brampton

Brampton is easy on junk in some ways and hard in others. Peel Region will take a sofa from the curb for free on garbage day, which is a good deal if you only have a sofa. It won’t take the old fridge in the garage, the drywall from the basement you finally finished, or the forty items a family accumulates in a house over fifteen years. And somebody still has to carry all of it up the basement stairs and out to the road.

Moving Co. does junk removal in Brampton, from a single appliance to a full basement, garage or estate cleanout. You show us what’s going. Our crew carries it out, loads it, sweeps up behind itself and hauls it away. You don’t drag anything to the curb and you don’t need a trailer or a free Saturday.

Call 905-752-7787 or request a free quote. A short description or a few phone photos is enough to give you a real number.

Start with what Peel will take for free

We’d rather tell you this up front than have you find out after you’ve paid us. If what you’re getting rid of is one or two pieces of furniture and you have time, the Region may do it for nothing.

According to Peel Region, bulky items like furniture, mattresses and barbecues are collected from the curb for free on your regular garbage day. You put them out by 7 a.m., and a barbecue has to go out without its propane tank, because the tank belongs at a recycling centre, not on the truck. Most Brampton homes are on an every other week garbage schedule, so check your calendar before you haul a dresser to the end of the driveway.

Peel also runs a couple of things most people never hear about:

  • A free extra pickup when you move out. If you’re leaving a home that gets curbside collection, Peel offers an extra garbage and bulky item pickup at no charge, arranged in advance, weekdays only. The number listed is 905-791-9499. Details are on the Region’s moving out page.
  • Garbage exemption days. A few times a year, households can put out as much acceptable garbage as they like without tags. The dates are on your collection calendar and on the Region’s garbage exemption page.

If either of those fits what you’ve got, use it. We’ll still be here for the parts they don’t cover.

Where the free pickup stops

Here’s where Brampton households usually run into a wall:

  • Appliances. Peel states plainly that large metal appliances are not collected at the curb. That covers fridges, freezers, stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, hot water tanks and even metal home safes. They have to be driven to a Community Recycling Centre.
  • Renovation waste. Old drywall, flooring, cabinets, tile and lumber are not curbside garbage in Peel. They go to a recycling centre, and disposal fees apply.
  • Hazardous materials. Paint, solvents, propane tanks, batteries and similar products are never picked up at the curb. They go to a recycling centre, where Peel takes them for free.
  • Tires. Peel’s recycling centres don’t take them at all. They go back to a tire retailer or to a collection site listed by Ontario’s Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority.
  • Volume and timing. Curbside pickup works on the Region’s calendar. If you’ve just emptied a basement, cleared out a parent’s house, or you need a rental unit empty before a new tenant moves in on Saturday, two weeks is a long time to have furniture sitting by the road.
  • The carrying. The Region picks up from the curb. It doesn’t come into your basement, and it won’t get a sleeper sofa up a tight stairwell for you.

That gap is what we fill. One visit, everything goes, and nobody in your house strains a back on the stairs.

Driving it to a Brampton recycling centre yourself

There are two Peel Community Recycling Centres in Brampton. The Region lists the Brampton CRC at 395 Chrysler Drive and the Heart Lake CRC at 420 Railside Drive, both open every day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed on statutory holidays. The full list is on Peel’s CRC locations page.

If you have a vehicle that can carry it and two people who can lift it, the do it yourself route is cheap. In 2026 Peel charges a $7 minimum per load of chargeable items, then 14.5 cents per kilogram above that. Dedicated loads of recycling, metal, electronics and appliances are free. They take debit, Visa and Mastercard, and they don’t take cash.

A few rules catch people out. You need proof that you live in Peel, and the waste has to come from Peel. Vehicles have to be under 5 tonnes, and dump trucks aren’t allowed. Wood has to be cut to 1.2 metres or less, insulation has to be double bagged, and asbestos isn’t accepted anywhere. Peel’s drop-off guidelines have the rest.

So the honest maths is simple. If you’ve got a truck, a free afternoon and a strong friend, drive it yourself. If you don’t, or the job is bigger than one trip, that’s the call we get.

How we price junk removal in Brampton

We price by volume, which means how much room your junk takes up in the truck. A few items from one room is a small job. A two car garage packed to the rafters is a big one. Three things move the number up or down:

  • What’s in the load. Most household junk is bulky and fairly light. Some of it is heavy and costs more to dispose of: renovation debris, a load that’s mostly appliances, anything dense. Disposal fees are a real cost on our side, and they depend on what’s in the load and where it has to go.
  • Where it is. A pile in the driveway is quick. The same pile in a basement, at the back of a deep lot, or up three flights in an apartment building takes longer, and the price reflects the labour.
  • Special handling. Fridges, freezers and air conditioners carry refrigerant, and mattresses and electronics have their own disposal streams. If anything on your list needs special handling, we tell you before we start.

You get a clear estimate before we load anything, and we explain what’s driving it. The price we agree is the price you pay. If the pile turns out bigger than you described, you hear the revised number before it goes on the truck, not after. Photos are the fastest way to get an accurate quote. Send them with your quote request.

What we haul out of Brampton homes

If it fits on a truck and isn’t hazardous, we’ll probably take it:

  • Furniture: sofas and sectionals, recliners, mattresses and box springs, bed frames, dressers, dining sets, desks, bookcases, bunk beds the kids outgrew.
  • Appliances: fridges, freezers, stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, window air conditioners and dehumidifiers.
  • Basement and garage clutter: boxes, old toys, broken shelving, exercise equipment, bikes, tools, storage totes, the patio set nobody sits on.
  • Electronics: TVs, monitors, computers, printers and stereo gear.
  • Small renovation leftovers: the old vanity, kitchen cabinets, a pile of laminate offcuts, a few bags of drywall scraps. For a full gut renovation with tonnes of concrete and drywall, a dedicated bin usually makes more sense, and we’ll say so.
  • Yard leftovers: broken patio furniture, old planters, a dismantled swing set, a barbecue with its tank removed.

What we won’t take is the same short list every honest hauler has: paint, solvents, gasoline, motor oil, propane tanks, pesticides, car batteries, asbestos and chemicals. Peel takes household hazardous waste for free at any recycling centre, with a limit of five propane tanks a day. If we find something on the day that can’t go on the truck, we set it aside and tell you where it goes instead of hiding it in the load.

Basements, garages and the unit downstairs

A lot of the work we do in Brampton happens below ground. Plenty of homes here have a finished basement, and many have a second unit down there with its own entrance. That creates a particular kind of junk job.

When a basement tenant moves out, they don’t always take everything with them. The landlord inherits a couch, a mattress, a bed frame and a closet full of odds and ends, usually right when the unit needs to be cleaned, painted and shown again. Getting a sectional out of a basement means a tight turn at the bottom of the stairs and a narrow side door, and it’s the kind of carry where people damage drywall and door frames. We take the legs off, find the angle, protect the walls and get it out.

Garages are the other big one. Two car garages become one car garages, then storage rooms with a car parked on the driveway. If you want the space back, we pull everything out onto the driveway, you decide what stays, and we load the rest. A typical garage clear-out takes a couple of hours, not a whole weekend.

If you’re a landlord with a turnover deadline, tell us the date when you call. We can often work with access arranged in advance, so you don’t have to drive over just to open the door.

Fridges, freezers and air conditioners

Old appliances are probably the most common reason Brampton people call us, because they’re the thing the curbside program won’t touch.

Anything that cools, like a fridge, freezer, air conditioner or dehumidifier, has refrigerant in it. In Ontario, only a certified technician can remove and handle refrigerants, and equipment that held refrigerant can’t be recycled or landfilled until that’s been dealt with and documented. That’s why you should mention any cooling appliances when you book. We plan for them and handle them correctly, rather than treating a freezer like a dresser.

Our crews can unhook a washer, a dryer or the water line on a fridge, so you don’t need to do it before we arrive. Anything on a gas line is different. A gas stove or dryer has to be disconnected by a TSSA registered contractor before we move it.

If the appliance still works, think about donating it first. Peel suggests the same thing, and also points out that many retailers will take your old appliance away when they deliver the new one. That’s worth asking about if you’re replacing rather than just removing.

Can you just put a bin on the street?

People often ask whether they should rent a bin instead. Sometimes they should, mainly for a big renovation with heavy debris. But in Brampton, check where it’s going to sit first. The City’s by-law pages say construction bins belong on private property, not on the road or the boulevard, so in practice it goes on your driveway.

Then there’s the lifting. A bin doesn’t carry anything up from the basement. You still do every trip yourself, it sits in the driveway for days, and you pay for those days whether you use them or not. For a household clear-out, a crew that arrives, carries, loads and leaves the same visit is usually less hassle and often cheaper once you count the truck rental, the time and your back.

Junk removal on the same day as your Brampton move

If you’re moving, moving day is the cheapest day to get rid of things. The crew and the truck are already in your driveway. As we load what you’re keeping, we can clear what you’re not: the mattress you’re replacing, the basement furniture that isn’t making the trip, the boxes nobody has opened since the last move.

It saves you from paying to move junk across town, and from booking a second appointment or keeping a bin on the driveway after the house is sold. If you’re moving within or out of the city, see our Brampton movers page. If you’re downsizing into a condo or apartment, our condo and apartment moves page explains how we handle building bookings.

Estate and full house cleanouts

Sometimes the job is a whole house. A parent has moved into care, someone has passed away, or a home is being sold after decades in the same family. It’s heavy work, and it often lands on people who are grieving, working full time, or living hours away.

We do these cleanouts at a pace that respects what’s going on. You decide ahead of time what’s being kept, given to family, donated or sold, and we clear everything else, including the basement, the garage, the attic and the corners nobody wanted to look at. If there’s a closing date, tell us and we’ll schedule backwards from it. For executors and families who live out of town, we can often arrange access in advance and keep you updated so you don’t need to fly in just to open the door.

For more on how we approach a full property clear-out, see our main junk removal page.

Businesses, warehouses and end of lease clear-outs

Brampton has a lot of industrial and warehouse space, and businesses need clear-outs too. We remove office furniture, cubicles and workstations, retail shelving and fixtures, racking contents, and whatever’s left in a unit at the end of a lease.

Commercial jobs usually turn on timing and access more than volume. There’s a hand-back date, a property manager who wants a certificate of insurance before anyone comes in, or a loading door you can only use at certain hours. Tell us all of that when you book and we’ll plan around it, including evenings and weekends where that’s what the building needs. If some of the furniture is worth keeping, we can move it to your new space in the same visit, since we’re a moving company too. Larger or ongoing work goes through our enterprise logistics service.

Where your junk goes after it leaves

We don’t dump everything in one place. Where it makes sense, we sort the load: furniture and appliances in decent shape can go to charities and reuse programs, while metal, electronics and cardboard go to recycling instead of the landfill. Some things are just done, and those are disposed of properly. We won’t promise you a green result we can’t deliver.

If you’d rather donate a few things yourself, Peel’s recycling centres have donation drop-off areas for household goods like kitchenware, decor, clothing, linens and books. The Region also lists a Diabetes Canada textile drop-off at 10 Peel Centre Drive in Brampton. Tell us which items you’d like donated and we’ll do our best to get them there.

Neighbourhoods we cover in Brampton

We do junk removal right across the city: Bramalea, Springdale, Heart Lake, Mount Pleasant, Fletcher’s Meadow, Castlemore, Snelgrove, downtown Brampton, and the newer subdivisions on every edge of town. We also cover nearby Caledon and Bolton, Mississauga, and the rest of the GTA. In fact, we do junk removal in every city in Ontario, so if you’re outside Brampton, ask.

How a Brampton junk pickup works

  • Tell us what’s going. Call 905-752-7787 or use the quote form. A list, a description or a few photos is enough.
  • Get a price and a time. You get a clear estimate based on volume, access and anything that needs special handling, and we book the crew.
  • We do the lifting. The crew arrives, protects floors and door frames on the way out, and carries everything to the truck. You point, we lift.
  • It leaves the same visit. The load goes on the truck and off your property. We sweep up before we go, and we don’t leave until you’ve had a look.

Our crews are insured, and we can send a certificate of insurance to any building or property manager who needs one before work starts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does junk removal cost in Brampton?

It’s priced mainly by volume, meaning how much space your items take up in the truck, plus access and anything that needs special disposal, like appliances with refrigerant. You get a clear estimate before we start and the price we agree is the price you pay. Send a few photos with your quote request for the most accurate number.

Will Peel Region pick up my old couch for free?

Usually, yes. Furniture and mattresses count as bulky items, and Peel picks them up at no charge on your regular garbage day if they’re out by 7 a.m. The catch is that you have to get it to the curb yourself, and it goes on the Region’s schedule. If it’s in a basement, it’s heavy, or you need it gone sooner, that’s when people call us.

Does Peel pick up old fridges and appliances?

No. Peel says large metal appliances are not collected at the curb. You can take them to a Community Recycling Centre, such as the ones on Chrysler Drive and Railside Drive in Brampton, where dedicated appliance loads are free. Or we can carry it out and take it away for you. Mention any fridge, freezer or air conditioner when you book so the refrigerant is handled properly.

Can you clear out a basement apartment after a tenant leaves?

Yes. Tenant turnovers are a regular job for us. We carry furniture and mattresses up the stairs and out the side door without wrecking the walls, and we can often work with access arranged in advance if you can’t be there. Tell us your deadline when you book.

Do you take paint, propane tanks or tires?

No. Paint, solvents, propane tanks, batteries and other household hazardous waste can’t go in a junk load. Peel takes them for free at any Community Recycling Centre. Tires aren’t accepted at Peel’s recycling centres either; they go back to a tire retailer or a collection site listed by the province’s recycling authority.

Can I put a disposal bin on the road in front of my house?

Brampton’s by-law pages say construction bins should be on private property, not on the road or the boulevard, so plan on your driveway. Keep in mind a bin doesn’t do any lifting. For most household clear-outs, a crew that carries everything out and leaves the same visit is less work.

Do you offer same day junk removal in Brampton?

Sometimes. We run seven days a week, and whether we can come today depends on what’s already booked and where the crews are. Call 905-752-7787 and ask. If we can’t do today, we’ll give you the earliest time we really have.

Do you donate usable furniture?

Where it’s realistic, yes. Usable furniture and appliances can go to reuse programs, and metal, electronics and cardboard go to recycling. Tell us which items you’d like donated and we’ll do our best to route them there.

Do you work with property managers and businesses?

Yes. We clear offices, retail units, warehouses and rental properties, and we can provide a certificate of insurance ahead of the date. Tell us the building rules and the hand-back date when you book.

Tell us what needs to go and we’ll give you a clear price and a time: insured crew, no surprise fees, everything gone in one visit. Request your free quote or call 905-752-7787.
